JOINT PUBLIC HEARING PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, on March 9. 1988, at 8:00 p.m. in the Courtroom of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County in Washington, Virginia, the Town Council of the Town of Washington. \ lrginia and the Planning Commission of the Town of Washington, Virginia will hold a joint public hearing pursuant to Section 15.1-131 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, for the purpose of considering amendments to its Zoning Ordinance and to its Historic District Ordinance. A synopsis of the proposed amendments to be considered at the joint public hearing are as follows: 1. Amendments to the Zoning Ordinance regarding required offstreet parking which will, among other things, reduce the number of required off-street parking spaces, and which Will exempt certain structures from the provisions of the mandatory off-street parking requirements. 2. An amendment to the Zoning ordinance to allow a reduction of building frontage set-backs to those of adjoining properties by Special Use Permit. 3. An amendment to the Zoning Ordinance to allow applications for Special Permits to be made by contract purchasers as well as certain other persons. 4. An amendment to the Historic District Ordinance to include parking lots, mailboxes, and newspaper boxes within the jurisdiction of the Architectural Review Board. All parties who are interested in said proposed amendments are invited to attend and to present their views. Copies of the exact wording of the proposed amendments are available for review by the public in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County in Washington Virginia during normal business hours.
