still pending against Lisa Ann Day, 22, 1216 Meander Dr., Culpeper. Miss Day was the driver of a pick-up truck involved in a single-vehicle accident on Jan. 29.
She was eastbound on Rt. 522 near the Culpeper-Rappahannock county line when the truck swerved off the right side of the road, crossed back into the westbound lane and into an embankment. The truck flipped, pinning Miss Day in the vehicle.
She was extricated by Salem and Sperryville fire and rescue personnel, revived at the scene by cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and taken to CMH by Washington VFD’s medic unit. She was then flown to University of Virginia Medical Center by the Pegasus med-evac helicopter. She was admitted to the intensive care unit in critical condition with head and chest injuries.
Trooper R. A. Baines, who investigated the crash, said at the time that alcohol and excessive speed appeared to be the causes of that accident. He added that charges against Miss Day probably would not be filed until she has recovered from her injuries.
According to a spokesman at the University Medical Center, as of Tuesday Miss Day remains in fair condition at the hospital.
A passenger in the truck was also taken to CMH, where he was treated and released.
