An expensive campsite?

Ascertaining that the present owner had paid $10,000 for the quarter-acre parcel. Chairman Lee Bird questioned: "Would you pay $10.0(X1 for a lot to camp on? ... I think we have to be realistic." When the lot was purchased by Thome Tracy, it was a buildable lot under the less stringent setbacks then in effect: 20 feet from each side and 50 feet from the front property line. The present zoning ordinance enacted in 19bO increased the setback requirements and made the lot unbuildable, resulting essentially in confiscation, said Mr. Bird. "He paid full value when the property was buildable."
