Charles W. Jenkins
Charles William Jenkins, 44, of Sperryville, died March 29 at Fairfax Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Jenkins was retired from the U. S. Army after a career of 22 years, including service in the Vietnam War and a long duty with the military police. For the past two years, he had served as a sergeant with the Rappahannock County Sheriffs Department.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Khoa T. Jenkins of Sperryville, two daughters, Mrs. Thuy Jenkins and Miss Glenda Jenkins, and a son Tommy Jenkins, all of Sperryville. Also surviving are his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ennis Jenkins of Sperryville, two brothers, Ennis Jenkins Jr. of Washington, Va., and James C. Jenkins of Sperryville, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Catherine Atkins of Sperryville and Mrs. Stella Mae Rutherford of Centreville. One granddaughter also survives.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Nethers Mill Lighthouse Tabernacle by the Rev. Charles Clinedinst. Burial with military honors will follow at Sperryville Cemetery. Members of the Rappahannock County Sheriffs Department will serve as pallbearers. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Clore Funeral Home, Culpeper.
The family will receive visitors at their home on Rt. 231.
