New programs at CCLC

After school club:CCLC will offer a non-academic program for school-age children (kindergarden-12 years) beginning Sept. 6 from 3:30-5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Activities are designed to enhance communication and group skills. Each child will receive a free Tshirt and club membership card. Cost: $100 per month.

Karate: CCLC will once again offer karate classes taught by Arthur Drago. Classes begin Sept. 14 and end Dec. 21. Students will meet every Wednesday from 3:30-5 p.m. These classes are for six to 15 years of age. Early registration is encouraged because there is a limit of 30 students. The cost will be $75.

A Saturday workshop in storytelling is in the planning for teachers, parents and other interested community participants. Call CCLC (675-3237) for more information.

'3 Men and a Baby'

The movie S Men and a Baby will be playing at the Gay Street Theater on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Sept. 3, 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m. each evening. Trapezoid at Oasis Vineyard

Tai Chi Chuan for beginners

Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient Chinese exercise for health, moving meditation and internal martial art. A new beginners’ class will start Sept. 14, from 7-8 p.m. at the Child Care and Learning Center. Beahm-Bolen reunion planned

Descendants, friends and relatives are invited to the fifth annual George Washington and Nancy Bolen Beahm family reunion Sunday, Sept. 4, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Rappahannock Park on Route 211 near Washington.

Aerobic dance classes

Coppage reunion

The family of the late George and Florence Coppage will hold their reunion on Sunday, Sept. 11 at the Rappahannock Park, Rt. 211, Washington. Family, relatives and friends are urged to attend. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. “Come and join us for a day of love and fellowship," said a family spokesperson.

Prospective band members

There will be an information night for prospective beginning band members Thursday, Sept, 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Elementary School auditorium. Parents and students interested in the beginning band program are encouraged to attend. Representatives of both JMU and Shenandoah Music will be there to rent instruments. “Let’s see the county school band program grow and prosper!” said a spokesmen for the program.
