Not only did he report in depth on all aspects of the case but he and the Rappahannock News staff worked above and beyond the call of duty to get the paper out one day early for two reasons — we needed to know what really happened and to squash some really vicious and inaccurate rumors. When I saw that issue I thought “This boy’s going for a Pulitzer!”
Lou Hatter and the News staff have also reported extensively on two other important issues recently. The Landfill and the Rappahannock Lakes water situation are issues that should concern us all. That’s responsible journalism, folks, not just a crusading editor.
I hope Lou Hatter does get a Pulitzer Prize someday and I hope he gets it while working for the Rappahannock News!
I also hope the News gets many other letters dealing with the other points Mr. Eastham’s letter raised. He used the public forum effectively; if you disagree, say so.
