To the editor:
I would like to disagree with Robert W. Eastham’s charge that Lou Hatter and the Rappahannock News are putting readers to sleep. •'
On the contrary, I believe that the News has improved a great deal under Lou Hatter and is on its way to becoming a GREAT paper. The front page is a case in point. On the left the long gray column headed “Old Rag Bulletins” notes short, important news items and public meetings. Especially helpful is the “Government at a Glance” section. I hope I never hear someone say again “I didn’t know about it, I didn’t see it in the paper.”
Another new feature is that important news articles on the front page are continued on the back page, making it easy to be informed on the issues immediately affecting the county.
I do not agree that Mr. Hatter has been asleep himself or that he is “part of the problem.” His reporting on the Old Hollow Kidnapping and shooting case was a tremendous
