of this every week. The School Board was made the devil of the piece almost without exception and, sorry to say, not without justification in every case, as I rapidly discovered.
The students were almost in a state of open rebellion (particularly in the high school), with “protests” and “demonstrations” when they were supposed to be in classes, just before I joined the Board, and the superintendent and the principal appeared to be shutting their eyes on this whole scene.
