To the editor:
I’ve always heard the saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” That is a very true saying, because tne picture placed in the Rappahannock News last week, “speeders, beware!” has been the talk of the town.
I think that Lou Hatter took about two steps ahead of himself by placing that picture in the paper.
Your first step, Mr. Hatter, was not knowing that just because a person is stopped by an officer does not mean he has done anything wTOng; and your second step, Mr. Hatter, was not knowing that if a person is charged with doing something wrong they are innocent until proven guilty.
Since you took it upon yourself, Mr. Hatter, to let the public know that my husband was stopped by an officer, I would like to take it upon myself to let the public know that he is innocent of any charges that you took upon yourself to place on him.
Because of the embarassment that picture has caused us, I could give you more than a thousand words, but I’m sure you would not print any of them in your paper. MRS. RICHARD FAULKNER Castleton
