Drucilla Pullen

Mrs. Drucilla Belle Pullen, 78, of Washington, wife of Russell Bryant Pullen died on Aug. 28 at Culpeper Health Care Center.

She was a native of Rappahannock County and was the daughter of the late Aldridge and Sarah Lehew Sisk. She was a member of Oakley Baptist Church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two stepsons, Edward L. Pullen and Lewis Bryant Pullen, both of Washington; a sister, Dorothy Atkins, Flint Hill; a brother, Reid Sisk, Gore;, nine step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held on Aug. 30 at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper. The Rev. Ernest Cornwell officiated, with interment in Washington Masonic Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Irving Sisk Jr., Wayne Baldwin, Paul Bennett, Roy Pullen, Jackie Sisk, Rommie Pullen, Edward J. Pullen and Clifton Jenkins.

Geest-Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Carolyn Tear

Mrs. Carolyn Fern Tear, 67, of Viewtown, wife of Thomas Harry Tear died on Aug. 27 at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.

She was a native of Galena, 111. and a former resident of Hazel Green, Wis. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Pearl Ross Wolford. She was an office administrator for various departments of the U.S. government, retiring about 10 years ago. She was a member of the board of directors of Culpeper Animal Welfare League and a member of Hazel Green United Methodist Church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a sister, Marjorie Shelliam, Hazel Green, Wis.; two nieces, Joyce Rouhoniemi, Minneapolis, Minn, and June Grambo, Menomonie, Wis.; and a nephew, David Shelliam, Hazel Green, Wis.

Graveside funeral services were held Aug. 31 at the Culpeper National Cemetery.
