RCHS Band racks
The Rappahannock County High School Band will sponsor an all day rock-athon on Saturday, Oct. 22, in the parking lot of Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington. The occasion is a fundraiser to buy matching pullover jerseys for the musicians. Band members will be rocking —in chairs—from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and playing some music as well. They will also be selling hot chocolate. "Stop by and have a cup," a member said, "and benefit a ( , worthy cause at the same time."
Red Cross seeks volunteers
The increasing numbers of women in the work force has left the American Red Cross with a serious shortage of volunteers, according to George Borjes, a Fauquier * Chapter spokesman. That chapter, headquartered in Warrenton, serves Rappahannock County as well. Mr. Borjes Srid that the Red Cross, which has traditional ly rel ied on women for most of its 1,500,000 volunteers nationwide, is trying to interest retirees, both men and women, in donating a few hours of their time.
