Ham and turkey dinner
Castleton Fire Department will be sponsoring a ham and turkey dinner with all the trimmings on Friday, Oct. 28 from 5:30-8 p.m. at the fire hall. Prices are $7 for adults and $3.50 for children. For additional information call 937-6051.
GED classes offered
The Rappahannock Literacy Volunteers are offering classes for residents who are preparing to take examinations for their General Equivalency Diploma, which offers adults who did not complete high school an opportunity to earn their high school diploma. The classes will be held each Monday evening from 7-9 at the county library. There is no charge for the service, and interested residents should call the library (675-3780) to sign up. Farmer's market bazaar
Craftspeople are encouraged to sign up now for space at the annual Christmas Bazaar held by the Culpeper Farmer’s Market. This year the bazaar wijl be held on Nov. 26 and Dec. 10, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost for a side space is $10 and $7.50 for a center space. Scholarship benefit banquet
A benefit banquet for the Julia E. Boddie Scholarship Fund at Rappahannock County Elementary School will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. The speaker is James Fountain. Donation is $12. F. T. Valley Church auction
The F. T. Valley Baptist Church in Slate Mills will hold an auction to benefit its building fund on Saturday, Nov. 5 beginning at 10 a.m. Items are needed for the auction; anyone with donations is asked to call Everett Yowell (923-4414) or Walter B. Kilby (825-6381) to arrange a pickup.
