Isaac Clater
Isaac “Buck” Merritt Clater, 63, of Castleton, died Oct. 15 in Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Clater was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Rappahannock County, the son of Ethel Atkins Clater, Sperryville and the late Roxie Clater. He was retired from the C & P Telephone Co.
Surviving with his mother are his wife, Annie Estes Clater; five daughters, Gloria Snellings, Woodbridge, Mary Knuycky, Centreville; JoAnn Clater, Leesburg, Cathy Horsman, Falls Church and Nancy Clater, Manassas; one son, Roxie Clater, Manassas; one sister, Cleo Dodson, Sperryville; three brothers, Robert Clater, Manassas, Jack Clater and Gid Clater, both of Sperryville; and five grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Oct. 18 at the Sperryville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Castleton Volunteer Fire Department or the Amissville Rescue Squad.

Lavinia Wagner
Lavinia Gardner Wagner, 89, of Culpeper, died Oct. 15 at Autumn Care Nursing Home, Madison.
Mrs. Wagner was a member of Culpeper Baptist Church. She was for many years a member of Fidelis Sunday School class and WMU and a charter member of BP&W. She was a member and PNG of Norman Ashby Rebecca Lodge, a retired bookkeeper from L.R. Waters & Co. and member and president of Culpeper Fire and Rescue Squad Auxiliary.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty W, Smith, Virginia Beach, Va.; three sons, Kermit Wagner Jr., Culpeper, James E. Wagner, Orlando, Fla. and E. Eugene Wagner, Orange; two sisters, Marion G. Tobey, Vero Beach, Fla. and Elizabeth G. Ware, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two brothers, Willie M. Gardner, Antioch, Tenn. and James E. Gardner, Suffolk; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her husband was the late Kermit H. Wagner and her parents were the late James Mathew and Elizabeth Hayes Gardner.
Mrs. Gardner was a native of Isle of Wright and had lived in Culpeper for many years.
A funeral service was held at Culpeper Baptist Church Oct. 19 with the Rev. H.O. Browning and Rev. Manley Tobey Jr. officiating.

William H. Jenkins
William “Willie” Haywood Jenkins, 69, of Culpeper, died Oct. 13 in the Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Jenkins was born in Rappahannock County, a son of the late James and Lucille Dodson Jenkins. He was a retired employee of the Virginia Department of Transportar
