Notice Of Public Hearing The Board of Supervisors for Rappahannock County, Virginia proposes for passage the following Ordinance, and shall hold a public hearing with respect thereto at the Courthouse in Washington, Virginia on

Monday, November 7, at 7:00 p.m.

Pursuant to Section 42.1-70 of the Code of Virginia, the following Ordinance shall become effective in Rappahannock County, Virginia on 1 January 1989:

There is hereby assessed, as part of the costs incident to each civil action filed in any court located in Rappahannock County, Virginia, the sum of four dollars, said sum to be collected by the Clerk of the Court wherein the civil action is filed at the time of filing. All such sums collected hereunder shall be remitted to the County Treasurer at least quarterly. The Treasurer shall keep a record of the amount remitted.

The Board of Supervisors shall, at least annually, direct expenditure of the amount collected for one or more of the purposes authorized by Section 42.1-70, and anything purchased with said funds shall be used for the establishment, use and maintenance of a County Law Library, which shall be open to the public at such hours as are established by the Board of Supervisors. The assessment created hereby shall not apply to the Commonwealth, any political subdivision thereof, or the federal government.
