According to Sheriffs Department Capt. Ed Streapy, David A. Blanchard Jr., 36, of Flint Hill, was charged with a felony, manufacturing marijuana not for his own use.

The suspected marijuana was growing in two patches not far from the house Blanchard rents from the Foster family off Route 631 near Shenandoah National Park. The plants were camouflaged by high weeds and small trees which had been allowed to grow up around the marijuana. Garden hoses ran from an outbuilding to both patches.
