Elzie R. Compton
Elzie Robson Compton, 69, of Rixeyville, an automotive mechanic, died July 2, at Culpeper Health Care Center. A native of Olive, Culpeper County, he was the son of Mrs. Ada Hitt of Rixeyville and the late Luther Robson Compton. He is survived by his wife, Ethel S. Compton; his mother; two daughters, Deborah Compton, Culpeper and Patricia Byfield, Opal; two sons, E. Leon Compton and David R. Compton, both of Rixeyville; a half brother, Leo Hitt, Catalpa; and a sister, Mrs. Aldean Hitt, Rixeyville.
Another son, Harold M. Compton, died in 1988.
A funeral was held July 6 at Geest Johnson Funeral Home, the Rev. Chester Caudill officiating, with interment in the Compton family graveyard near Rixeyville.
Pallbearers were Joey Compton, Kenny Compton, Harold William Compton, Gerald Settle, Stephen Settle and Raymond Hitt.
Mattie L. Clark
Mattie Lee Clark, 108, of Warrenton, died July 7, in 1 auquier Hospital.
A graveside service was held in Stonewall Memory Gardens in Gainesville with the Rev. Steve Jones officiating.
Mrs. Clark was bom November 19, 1885, in Virginia, the daughter of the late Ed and Rosie Rudasill Jones. She was married to the late Omer Clark.
