Basket workshop

A basketweaving workshop will be held at Middle Street Gallery in July. The three session class will be devoted to completing an Appalachian melon basket with a wild grapevine handle and dyed reed splits. The fee is $48 and includes all materials. Gospel sing at Mineral

Make your plans to attend the third annual gospel sing sponsored by the Mineral Rescue Squad. Again this year, the feature groups will be two of Southern Gospel Music’s favorites, - The Hoppers and Connie, along with the ventriloquist team of Anita and David. The sing will be held on Saturday, August 12, 1989, at 7:30 p.m. in the Louisa Middle School in Mineral. Tickets will be sold at the door ($10.00 each —children 13 and under free). Tour of jail and museum buildings

The members of the Rappahannock Historical Society are invited to join Lucy Blackwell Jones for a tour of the Fauquier Historical Society’s restored jail and museum building. Meet at 10 a.m. Monday. La Leche League meets

Chester Gap carnival

The Chester Gap Carnival is scheduled for July 26-29. Friday, July 28, Jerry Williams and'The Mystic Sound will be performing. Two shows are scheduled, one from 8-9 p.m. and the other from 10-11 p.m. On Saturday the 4th annual horseshoe pitch will begin at 12:30 p.m. and the crowning of the queen and the grand prize will take place Saturday night.

10th class reunion

The 10 year class reunion for graduates of 1979 has been set for Saturday, Aug. 12 at the Panorama Restaurant in Luray. Social hour will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by dinner and a dance.
