your’re pushing yourself too hard.

If you feel dizzy, nauseous, thirsty of if you develop a headache during exercise, stop, find a cooler place to sit down and drink some water. If any symptoms of heat stroke are present, seek medial care immediately.

Try exercising in the early morning or early evening when the temperatures are cooler. Chances are these are also the times of the day when you will have more time to enjoy your exercise and not be pushed by a clock. Remember, when exercising outdoors on rainy days and at night, be aware of reduced visibility for you as well as for drivers. Wear bright or reflective clothing and be cautious.

Clothing for summer exercise should be light and loose-fitting. Avoid rubberized or plastic suits, sweatshirts and sweatpants. Heavy, non-breathable clothing will cause dangerouly high body temperatures and increase the risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Exercise is a great way to get outside and enjoy the weather and the enviroment. Whether you are walking, jogging, biking or gardening, enjoy yourself! A good exercise program in the summer will lead to a healthy, active lifestyle year-round.
