indictment charging conspiracy to possess cocaine against Jeffery A. Bigelow, 27, of Castleton. The indictment was returned based on the testimony of Rappahannock County Sheriffs Department Captain Ed Streapy. The charge encompasses two state statutes, each of which carry a penalty of one to 10 years in prison and a $1,000 fine.

As of presstime Wednesday. Bigelow had not yet been arrested, but Sheriff John Henry Woodward said a warrant had been issued for his arrest.

Escape charges certified

Two Rappahannock County Jail inmates face charges of escape after indictments were returned by the grand jury. Robert Wayne Wynkoop, . 20, and James Preston “Dickie" Walters, 26. escaped from the jail on May 23 by clipping several strands of wire on the fence which surrounds the jail’s exercise yard
