To have a parcel considered for being added to the town, the landowner must present a survey of the property, showing how7 it is divided by the line, how much land is in the town and how much is in the county. The landowner must also certify that the parcel was a lot of record on Oct. 1, 1984. This documentation must be filed with Mr. McCarthy’s office by March 1, 1990.
After March 1, the towm and county will hold a public hearing to consider changing the boundary, and if-they agree to make the changes, they will petition the Circuit Court to approve the boundary7 adjustments.
“I think this is a solid, good plan. There would be no cost to the town or county. The applicant would have the cost of the survey,” Mr. Luke said.
“I think it’s a good piece of work,” Hampton District representative Mike Massie said, “We’ve been beating our heads against the wall for a year or two on this.”
Mr. Massie’s motion to approve the resolution passed unanimously.
