Correction
In the Dec. 14 story about Mary Jane Swift’s jury trial on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to manufacture, there were several errors of fact. Most importantly, the plant material confiscated from the house came from a spare bedroom on the second floor, not from Mrs. Swift’s bedroom.
Also, the judge who heard the case was James H. Chamblin; and Mrs. Swift did receive the maximum penalty for the reduced offense of
