This winter the 4-H Center in Front Royal is offering several new camps for 4-H’ers ages 9-19.
The winter camp is for youth in Rappahannock, Page, and Frederick counties — the same counties with whom we camped last summer. The Summer-in-the-Winter Festival and the 4-H Ski Weekend are for all 4H’ers in Northern District, which will allow youth the opportunity to make friends with 4-H’ers from other counties.
4-H Winter Camp - 4-H Winter Camp sign-ups are now being accepted. The new program for Rappahannock youth will be held Feb. 16-18 at the Northern Virginia 4-H Center in Front Royal. Cost for the weekend is $30, which includes lodging, meals and registration fee.
The camp will offer a variety of classes, including archery, building a bird house or bat house, weaving the seat of a footstool, computers, nature, outdoor camping, rifle instruction, ice skating, and several craft classes. The campers will have evening campfires and entertainment.
Sunday will feature a worship service as well as two workshops on the Nuts & Bolts of 4-H. One session is for 4-H’ers and the other session is for parents.
Those who have camped before, as well as those who would like to have a first-time camping experience, are invited to register. Parents are welcome.
