The Amissville fireman’s carnival got underway Wednesday night, June 27. The parade begins Thursday night, June 28, at 7 p.m. along Rt. 211. Everyone is invited to participate. If you were unable to sign up, you may fall in line at the end of the parade, or call Shelia Scott at 937-4357.
Following the parade, the contestants will be selling $1 tickets for the grand prize drawing on Saturday night of $1,000, $500, two $50 and two $25. Contestants are reminded their money and tickets must be turned in at the fire hall at 9 p.m. Princess contestants should see Melanie Settle or Barbara Daymude, others see Cathy Smith.
Tickets may also be purchased from any fire and rescue personnel on carnival grounds.
Bring the whole family out for some real fun. Many excellent rides, games etc. are available, and of course, plenty of food. Thursday night through Saturday ride-all-youcan for $6.
The queen will be crowned Friday night at 11 p.m.; the princess, Jr. Miss, and prince will be crowned at 8 p.m., Friday.
Rappahannock Athletic Association Little League will be selling baked goods at the carnival grounds Thursday and Friday nights. Donations may be phoned to fund-raising chairman Cheryl Diggs at 937-5783 or 937-5157 or items may be dropped by their table either night.
Everyone is invited to enjoy a day of fun at Stuart’s field from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 30. Little League mothers will be playing in a benefit softball tournament.
Rappahannock Little League Football registration will be held on Saturday, June 30 at 10 a.m. at Rappahannock High School. Cost is $45.
