Great Meadow in The Plains, Fauquier County, is resuming its history of celebrating the Fourth of July this year with a family event, including fireworks by pyrotechnic specialists the Ruggieri Co.
Gates open at 5 p.m. and childen’s games begin at 5:30 p.m.
Family entertainment includes hay rides, a dunking booth, hot-air balloon rides, strolling barbershop quartets and a display of stunt planes and aerial acrobatics.
The fireworks begin at about 9:20 p.m., when it gets dark. The fireworks will include a special groundworks display featuring a horse theme.
