Rear Admiral John L. Marocchi,
United States Navy, retired June 30 and will -make his home in Rappahannock near Sperryville. He is a native of Bologna, Italy, and a 1938 apointee to the U.S. Nava! Academy from Tenessee. A member of the class of 1942, he graduated and was commissioned in December 1941, due to the national . emergency. He has been ■ awarded the Legion of Merit, with Oak Leaf Cluster; Joint Service Commendation Medal, Purple Heart, the Korean Order of Military Merit and numerous campaign medals.
