The new member of the School Board representing Stonewall-Hawthom District will be John Tole of Woodville.
At Monday’s public hearing on the appointment only Dr. Tole and his wife Judy were present. Robert Anderson, the supervisor representing the district, nominated Dr. Tole.
Since the School Board member must be someone nominated at that meeting, Dr. Tole will be appointed. He will succeed William Oliver, who declined reappointment after serving seven years on the board.
Dr. Tole is a senior technical advisor with Data Link Information Solutions of Reston. The Toles have two children who will be in the high school next year: Jeremy, who will be a senior, and Johanna, who will be in eighth grade.
They raise Christmas trees and rhododendrons on their farm outside Woodville. Dr. Tole is a member of the choir at Trinity Episcopal Church and.is chairman of the finance committee for The church. He has a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Drexel Institute of Technology, a M.S. in aeronautics and astronautics from MIT, and a Sc.D. in instrumentation, also from MIT. He taught at MIT and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
