Three separate tests are included in the Literacy Passport. Students are tested on reading, mathematics and writing. Statewide 82 percent passed the reading and math tests, and 77 percent passed the writing test. Apparently many Rappahannock students passed two out of three tests, because the local results show 83.3 percent passing the reading test, 78 percent passing the math test and 76.7 percent passing the writing test.

Those students who failed one or more of the separate tests will have an opportunity to take them again in seventh grade, and if necessary in eighth grade. They will not have to retake any test they already passed.
