Residents of the Northern Shenandoah Valley are invited to assist in a special project aimed at collecting and preserving the traditions and customs of the area under a special grant sponsored by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities.
A Virginia Folklife Project is being operated through Lord Fairfax Community College by Scott Suter, a trained field research specialist, who is interviewing area residents during June and July. Mr. Suter, who teaches folklife courses at James Madison University, is completing a doctorate in American Studies at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
