After completing a full year of learning, working and sharing, the Rappahannock Garden Club met last week at the Washington Fire Hall.
A delightful luncheon for this annual business meeting was catered by the Julia E. Boddie Scholarship Committee. Hostesses for the meeting were Christine Johnston, Frances Russell and Eve Filipy.
A report was made that scholarship grants were given by the Garden Club to graduating seniors of the Rappahannock County High School. Recipients were Jennifer Fox, Hope Racer and John Henry Woodward Jr. Attending Nature Camp this summer will be Laima McNear and Jonathan Maeyer, under the sponsorship of the club.
Recognition was given to two members who garnered the most points during the year in presenting arrangements and specimens. Dot Mank was given this award in the category of horticulture, and Dot Estes in the artistic category.
Mrs. Sutherland, a Sperryville resident, is publicity chairwoman for the Rappahannock County Garden Club.
