The July meeting of the Rappahannock
County Board of Supervisors was held Friday with members L.H. Luttrell, Norman Wilbur, Herbert Foster and chairman J. Newbill Miller present. Highway Resident Engineer James K. Skeens had no specific report to make except to inquire of any suggestions or complaints concerning his department. Attention was called to the fact that drainage on Fodderstack Road was poor in several places and ditching might be required. It was also noted that bushes and foliage on Route 626 need attention.
Prizes awarded at the close of the Chester Gap carnival Saturday night were as follows: first, $400 cash to Doris Wells of Warrenton; $75 cash to Mrs. Lucy Foster, Flint Hill; $25 cash to Leonard Campbell, Washington, Va. The Chester Gap fire company reported the most successful carnival to date and extended appreciation to all who helped or attended.

E.N. Montague was elected
chairman of the Rappahannock County School Board for 1975-76 at the regular meeting of this group Tuesday night. At the same time Mrs. Beverly Massie was named vice chairman. Mr. Montague has served as vice chairman and succeeds Irving R. Kilby who moved from Piedmont District which he represented and retired from the School Board.
