Miss and princess, were provided by Custom Jewelers of Culpeper. Amy was crowned by last year’s winner, Sopja Early. Amy collected $2,002 for the Department.
Jr. Miss is Jessica Pullen. She raised $144.00. (This was a new category this year.)
The new princess is Stephanie Stuart. She was crowned by last year’s winner, Emily Taylor. She raised $625.00.
The new prince is Phillip Morris. He raised $217.00.
Runners-up included: for queen, first runner-up was Angelique Brown; second runner-up was Cari Hardin; third runner-up was Christina Curtis and the fourth runner-up was Dede Andrews.
For the Jr. Miss the runner-up was Courtney Mauro.
For princess, first runner-up was a three-way tie between twins Danielle and Dawn Jenkins and Christina Bowen; second runner-up was Juanita Cook; third runner-up was Kayla Mills; fourth runner-up was Christine Hendell; and the Mill’s sisters, Sarah and Eva, tied for fifth runner-up.
Supervisor Ellis Bingham made the presentations assisted by fire chief Paul Poling and president David Sheffield. Appreciation is expressed to Donna Sheffield for arranging the flowers, Melody Settle for coordinating the princess contest and Cathy Smith for coordinating the queen, Jr. Miss, and prince contests. Appreciation was also expressed to Mr. Jim Paul for use of a trailer for the contestants’ float and to Smith Brothers Construction, Inc. who pulled it. A very special thanks was expressed to the fire department staff and to the contestants and their parents for their hard work in selling tickets. Contestants raised $5,000.
