Council meeting Tuesday night. A letter requesting the reduction of the speed limit on business Route 211 from 35 mph to 25 mph will be sent to the Virginia Department of Highways. Law enforcement agencies are cooperating with the effort to slow traffic in the area and several speeding tickets have been issued according to town Mayor Peter Kramer.

David Brooke Miller of
Washington, was among those Virginia Tech students named to the Dean’s List during the Spring quarter. Brooke is a sophomore, majoring in animal science, and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Newbill Miller. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must attain a 3.4 average or better in the University’s 4.0 grading system.
Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church will have a bake sale July 4th in Washington, Va. Their booth will be located near the Medical Clinic. Join the activities of Independence Day celebration.

Boys physicals will be conducted
on Tuesday, July 9 at 4 p.m. instead of July 10 at the high school. Boys will need to bring forms already signed by parents. The forms are available at the high school next week.
The Sperryville Community 4-H Club will meet on Monday, July 15 at 7 p.m. at the fire hall. All area youngsters between the ages of 9 and 19 are invited to attend.
