Hint Hill carnival continues'
The flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department's annual carnival continues tonight with the popular parade, featuring the newly-crowned Miss Virginia, Shannon DePuy of Amherst. The parade will draw fire and rescue units from Northern Virginia and Maryland, plus Shrine units, high school marching bands and many novelty floats. Box suppers will be available before and after the parade. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, anyone can ride all night for $6. Prizes to be awarded Saturday night include Redskins season tickets, a registered Black Angus and a 1990 Ford Escort. Daczewitz to attend Shepherd *
Philip Daczewitz was signed by Shepherd College of Shepherdstown, West Virginia to a baseball scholarship;the college announced this week. Daczewitz was n&med three times to the Bull Run District's first team all-district, twice as a first baseman and once as an outfielder. Shepherd College baseball coach Joe Freeland said that Daczewitz will play in the outfield for th^ Rams. Fee Day on Aug. 30
Rappahannock County Public Schools will hold their annual Fee Day on Thursday, Aug. 30 at both the high school and elementary school.
