RAA annual picnic

The Rappahannock Athletic Association, which oversees the county's Little League baseball program, will hold its annual picnic this Saturday, Aug. 4 at Stuart Field in Amissville. Beginning at 10 a.m. there will be baseball, awards to all the players, a picnic lunch and "family baseball fun," according to the organizers. The public is invited to attend.

Slaughter’s rep to visit

Congressman D. French Slaughter jr. will send his district representative, Jane Clatterbuck, to Rappahannock County on Wednesday, Aug. 8. Mrs. Clatterbuck will be at the courthouse in Washington from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m: to speak with constituents who need assistance or have problems of a Federal nature. Residents are also invited to stop by and express their opinions or concerns about matters pending before the U.S. Congress.
