On Sunday, Aug. 5 the Front Royal/Warren County amphitheater will host the City of Alexandria Pipes and Drums and The Highland Dancers. .
The performance is the eighth in the “Summer ’90 at the Amphitheater,” sponsored by the Blue Ridge Arts Council Inc.
The band was formed in 1971 to help foster Northern Virginia’s interest in its Scottish heritage. The musicians wear the cameron tartan in memory of Lord Fairfax, whose role in the development of Virginia is well known.
The group performs at festivals, parades and concerts in the greater Washington area and has been a star attraction at the White Post Celebrations.
