Taste fair planned
A taste fair will be held at Mountainside Market beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7. Featured will be Heba’s Health foods and mid-Eastern cuisine.
Fashion show planned
The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will present their annual fashion show at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 22 at the Rappahannock Elementary School. This year’s show “A Blue Ridge Springtime” will benefit the Rappahannock County Park and the Woman’s Club annual scholarship fund. Tickets may be purchased at the door or from any member.
NSDARtomeet
The Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR, will meet at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 8 at the Culpeper Baptist Church. Honored at the tea will be the recipients of the DAR Good Citizens awards with their families.
Services Board to meet
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board will hold its regular monthly meeting at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10 in the Library of the Lord Culpeper Building, 401 South Main St., Culpeper, Va. •

Leader training program
There will be a leader training program at the Rappahannock County Extension Office at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17. The topic is “Reminiscence: Helping People Realize That Their Lives Have Mattered.” The program is free and open to the public. Call 675-3619 for additional information.
Preschool programs to continue ■:
The Rappahannock County Library’s preschool programs will continue on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. through March 18. Elizabeth Hilscher will lead the story program on March 11. Spaghetti dinner
An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 21 at the Amissville fire hall. Prices are $5 for adults, $2.50 for children under 12 and children five and under are free. Spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and beverage will be served. Proceeds will benefit the Amissville fire department.
Visual learning workshop
' The Polaroid Education Program is offering a two hour Visual Learning Workshop open to all homeschoolers, private school and public school teachers from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on March 25 at Rappahannock High School. Teachers learn how to operate a Polaroid 600 instant camera which is theirs to keep at the end of the workshop, techniques for improving the quality of visual images and ideas for using instant photography in the classroom. Participating teachers will be registered in a program to exchange film proof-of-purehase seals for additional cameras. The cost is $9 and participants are asked to bring one pack of Polaroid “600 Plus” film. Registration deadline is March 18. Call Laurie Marshall at 675-3267 to register or for further information.
Kindergarten registration
All children who are five years of age by Sept. 30 are eligible to enter school in the fall of 1992. Registration for children who are entering kindergarten for the first time this fall will be held at Rappahannock County Elementary School on Tuesday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 11.
Thursday, March 12 will be reserved in case an additional day is needed. The hours are from 9 a.m. until noon and from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. by appointment. Parents should call the school at 987-8259 to arrange a mutually convenient time. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
In order that proper planning be done for material and staffing, it is essential that all prospective kindergarten children be registered on March 10 and 11. Parents are requested to bring birth certificates and social security numbers to registration.
