“Foothills Fever” will break out at 7 p.m., Wednesday evening, March 11, at Prince Michel Vineyards in Madison County.
On site to discuss the future of “Rural Tourism in the ’90s” will be the chairmen from each Board of Supervisors in the six counties comprising the Foothills Travel Association of Virginia, Inc. (FTA), as well as the mayors of Culpeper, Orange and Warrenton.
Business owners and interested residents of Culpeper, Fauquier, Greene, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock counties are urged to attend the roundtable program and offer their ideas and opinions. Members of Foothills and host Prince Michel will offer light food and beverages.
“This will be the first general membership get-together of 1992,” said FTA Madison board member and program chair Louis Cable, who operates a bed and breakfast in Madison County.
“It’s a watershed session,” he emphasized. “We want to hear from our elected officials and the people from each of the locales Foothills represents, so that we can better define our responsibilities, relationships and translate that into enhanced marketing of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountain Foothills region.”
Besides soliciting general ideas and targets for promotion from attendeees, the meeting will feature a round-table discussion among officials of the various jurisdictions.
