Nina Sisk

Nina Lee Fincham Sisk, 87, of Sperryville, died Saturday, Feb. 29 at the Cedars Nursing Home in Charlottesville.

Mrs. Sisk was born Oct. 7, 1904 in Rappahannock County, the daughter of the late Charlie and Nellie Fincham.

Her husband was the late Early J. Sisk.

She was a member of Piedmont Regular Baptist Church in Rappahannock.

Survivors include one sister, Sadie Painter of Culpeper; a brotherin-law, Robert Sisk and his wife, Gussie Sisk of Orange and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Fincham and four sisters, Mary Jenkins, Bertha Sisk, Virgie Jenkins and Laura Coates.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 3 at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville with the Rev. Hoover Heflin officiating. Interment was in Sperryville Cemetery.

Duff Payne

Duff Hamilton Payne, 44, of Culpeper, died Saturday, Feb. 29 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Payne was bom April 22, 1947 in Fauquier County.

He was a member and past vestryman of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, past member of the Jaycees and Optimist clubs, and a member of the Piedmont Board of Realtors.

Mr. Payne is survived by his parents, Charles Venable Payne Sr. and Audrey H. Payne of Culpeper; his son, Christopher Venable Payne of Culpeper; his former wife, Linda R. Payne of Culpeper; two brothers, Charles Venable Payne Jr. of Lake of the Woods and Edward Marcellus Payne of Jefferson ton and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Margaret Payne of Culpeper and Mrs. Leigh Payne Wood of Warrenton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, March 5 at Found & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Desaulniers and the Rev. Jim Williams officiating. Interment will be in Culpeper Masonic Cemetery.
