Rabbit Gum house at the comer of Gay and Wheeler streets. Another .14 acres would be added to the Rabbit Gum property by a boundary adjustment. This would enlarge this property from about one fourt h of an acre to approximately one third of an acre. The residue of the property would be a parcel of 3.75 acres mostly in the county with a 20-footwide “pipe stem” portion connecting to an extension of Wheeler Street, which would also serve the first parcel.
All three applicants submitted proffers that if the properties are further subdivided within four years the further subdivision would have to meet the requirements for a three-lot subdivision.
Some changes were made in the proposed Historic District Ordinance as a result of the public hearing. Mr. Reynolds said they would not require that the ordinance be readvertised.
Dwight Matthews, a Flint Hill architect who was recently appointed to the Architectural Review Board, made several suggestions derived from historic district ordinances in other Virginia cities that were added to the ordinance.
