Carson Lillard
James Carson Lillard Sr., 82, of Flint Hill, died Friday, Feb. 28 at his home.
A funeral service was held at the Flint Hill United Methodist Church Monday, March 2 with the Rev. Merlin Shorb officiating. Burial was in the Flint Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Lillard was bom Nov. 26, 1909 at Nethers, the son of the late James William and Elizabeth Susan Jenkins Lillard. He was a member of the Flint Hill United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel P. Lillard of Flint Hill, three sons, James C. Lillard Jr. of Manassas, Thomas F. Lillard of Dumfries and Daniel! L. Lillard of Selma, N.C.; two daughters, Jean R. Lillard of Flint Hill and Judith L. Smith of Tempe, Ariz.; two brothers, Clyde Lillard and Aubrey L. Lillard, both of Flint Hill; two sisters, Alice M. Brady of Flint Hill and Nellie Pritchett of F’ront Royal; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. , Mr. Lillard was predeceased by two daughters, Dolly L. Wyatt and Lucy M. Lillard and by one sister, Fannie Nethers.
Active pallbearers were Jack Curtis, M.H. Brady, Clarence McCulloch, Leon Lillard, Emory Russell and Maynard Nethers.
Honorary pallbearers were David Lillard, Michael Lillard, Steven Lillard, Mike Dellinger, Clark Moats, Patrick Keller and Donald Barry Clatterbuck. ’ Memorial contributions may be made to the Flint Hill United Methodist Church or Flint Hill Fire Department.

Charles Turner
Charles Randolph Turner, 42, of Washington, died Friday, Feb. 28 at his home.
A graveside service was conducted Wednesday, March 4 at the Flint Hilf~ Cemetery by the Rev. John Pendleton.
Mr. Turner was bom March 3, 1949, in Washington, son of James A. Turner of Washington and the late Lucy Turner. He was a construction worker with Ed Bailey of Washington.
Surviving in addition to his father are three brothers, Robert
Jayson Turner of Front Royal and John Richard Turner and Haywood Turner, both'of.Washington and four sisters, Anna Mildred Brabham of Philadelphia, Virginia Elizabeth Little and Lucille Margaret Head, both of Pittsburgh and Mary Roberta Fletcher of Washington.
Arrangements were handled by W.C. Thompson Funeral Home in Culpeper.
