Del. Davies said, “Virginia recognizes tourism as its second largest industry, yet more should be done. The pursuit of tourism’s full potential is essential to our rural communities.”
Also, Joe Grandstaff, president of the 68year-old Shenandoah Valley Travel Association (SVTA)—the oldest organization of its kind in the Commonwealth—will tell how SVTA promotes its 13-county “over-themountain” region. Mr. Grandstaff is also marketing director for the recently opened Museum of American Frontier Culture in Staunton.
“Foothills has much to learn from Joe, and from the people in our own region,” Mr. Cable said.
