Mr. Reisler wants greater awareness for the arts, then perhaps they should clean-up their act and not wait for complete outrage from the public over funding the perverts that hide behind the arts banner. It is a disservice to great writers and poets like Kipling, Frost, Robert Lewis Stevenson and countless others to compare their timeless works with the offensive acts of some of our modem “artists.”
One point I’m sure the other side will try to use is that these grants help keep the cost of the performances and exhibitions affordable to the general public; but if they charged enough to cover all their expenses, they would either market something acceptable or increase the number of shows to make up for it in volume. Then they would have to work a little harder, just like the rest of America when we see hard times. If nonfunding means starving artists, then maybe they should get a regular job and be creative and artistic in their spare time.
