Speaking after the game Clarke’s coach Mike Sipe admitted that Rappahannock “played well enough to win - they just didn’t get the breaks at the end.’’
Perhaps he was referring to two obviously blown calls in the closing minutes of the game. With 5:50 left to play Jolliffe was hammered as he drove the lane and went up for a shot. Just before making a face-first landing on the floor, he tossed the ball in the air. Somehow it came straight down through the hoop.
