To be or not to be..Was that the question? Whether to build a middle school in Rappahanncok County or not?
That question did not survive the Board of Supervisor’s chopping block. A proposal for an addition supplanted the issue.
There is no question of a new school any longer, merely, how will the Board vote on March 1 concernijg the dollar figure submitted for this proposed addition? The chances of building a Vocational Ed Center are dust in the wind, too!
However, in the wake of the March first decision, depending on the outcome, another question could arise..do we start all over again? Yes! Yes! and Yes!
Start from scratch again, and get it right next time! Gather new, energetic, resolute and inventive people that will focus on one aim, and only that one...building, planning, and funding the construction of a new school; be it primary, middle, or high.
The problems of overcrowding, marginal equipment, unsanitary condition, and understaffing are paramount above other items on the chopping block. The proposed addition is a single temporary solution.
This problem will raise its ugly head once again in a few years, because it simply was not met adequate
