Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and the University of Virginia, searching for a new graduate center site in Northern Virginia, Friday held a seminar for potential bidders on the project.

would be approximately ,$42 per ton to begin with, but that would rise to about $55 per ton in four years, he said. At $42 per ton that would work out to approximately $275,000 per year, he said. Even with the additional cost of hauling, he estimates that it will be less expensive for the county to arrange to have its trash taken to Fauquier than to operate its own landfill.

The total cost will depend on whether the county keeps two sites in addition to the landfill, consolidates to one site and the landfill, or eliminates all sites except the landfill, Mr. McCarthy said.

Each year the Capital Improvements Plan calls for two new school buses and one or two new cars for the Sheriffs Department. In 1994 it also calls for $22,000 for improvements to the courthouse and $20,000 for better storage for the records at the County Clerk’s office.

In 1995 the plan calls for $85,000 to renovate the town hall and $25,000 to expand the animal shelter.
