Let’s be realistic and accept the limping economy for what it is and move out of the swamp! It seems inconcievable that citizens and leaders of Rappahannock could not have joined together, put aside their selfserving needs just this once, and come out in force to endorse, defend, and sustain the building of a new school. If you were incensed to find put your taxes would increase with construction of a new school and everything that goes with it..why don’t you step beyond yourself for a moment and look at the bigger picture?
Would paying higher taxes be the end of the world, or the inevitable? Will Rappahannock students have the best possible education with competitive skills in modern facilities with breathing and thinking room? Would you like to instill sterling principles and innovative problem solving by your own example?
There’s a generation of potential scientists, doctor, writers, teachers, artists, and entrepreneurs entering the workforce in the 21st century that will emerge from Rappahannock County.
They will affect change and be the decision makers of the nation when you and I are senior citizens with grandchildren. Does that thought leave you with a feeling of accountability?
Make up any excuse you like to justify you condemnation of construction for a new school...but the bottom line is that ‘bigger picture.’
