A call for entries
Artists of all ages and mediums are invited to submit work or slides of work in any medium June 12 for Middle Street Gallery’s July show honoring the Rappahannock River. There is a $10 entry fee. Three pieces may be submitted. Children do not need to pay an entry ■ fee. The children’s work will be displayed at the Rappahannock County Library during the month of July. Accepted work should be brought to the Gallery on June 27. The work need not be for sale. If it is, the artist receives a 60 percent commission. Call 675-3440 for an entry form.
4-H special interest camps
Registration for Special Interest Camps began April 5. Camps planned for this year include: Fresh Water Fisheries Camp, Horse Camp, Environmental Camp, Creative Performing Arts Camp, Teen Jubilee, High Adventure Camp, Cloverbud Camps, and Intermediate Congress. For complete information and registration forms, call or come by the Extension Office. °
Banquet planned
Tickets are on sale now for the Rappahannock County High School athletic banquet and awards ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 27. Varsity athletes attend free. Tickets for others are $3.
Festival in Sperryville
The beauty of Spring in the Blue Ridge Mountains provides the inspiration for a Memorial Day “Sperryville Spring Festival” which will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 29 and 30 in and around the village of Sperryville.
The celebration features live entertainment and music, lots of food, vegetable, herb and flowering plants, special children’s activities, craft demonstrations, special antique sales and much more. The festival is sponsored by the Sperryville Business Council.
July 4th program
Plans for the 1993 Fourth of July Program are moving ahead with two appearances by “Trapezoid” and a vocal concert of American favorites sung by Ann Carroll of Williamsburg already scheduled. A bigger parade is in the works with increased community participaion. Singers are needed to lead a brief sing-along at noion. If you are interested please call Ellen Manson at 675-1349.
