I would like to give a special word of thanks to Jeff MacNelly for donating the highest money-making auction item, which was an original hand colored and signed “Shoe” cartoon.
In addition to the workers, waiters, and auction contributions, I would like to thank Skyline Cold Storage, Meredyth Vineyards, Richard and Joyce Abell, Beverly Atkins, Lillian Ay lor, Rachel Aylor, Frances Dodson, Heidi and Lindsay Eastham, Janet Hofer, Aline Johnson, Pat McCarthy, Kay Miller, Betsy Murray, Lucy Oliver, Becky Parish, Susan Parish, Marion Sharp, Helen Smith and Pat Vest Wharton for their food contributions.
And I would like to thank the Washington Fire and Rescue Company for allowing us to have this event in their facilites.
Our Planning Committee included Roberta Anderson, Susan McCarthy, Bob Scott, Barbara Wayland, and myself — but above all I want to thank Susan McCarthy for her neverending hard work during each stage of this event. She was my right hand and my sanity through it all and I could not have done it without her.
With everyone’s help we had a lot of fun and were able to raise nearly $6,000 which will be used towards research, community services, public health education, and professional education throughout the community. Thanks again for your support .and I hope we will see you next year. ANN H. MILLER
