Answers Wanted
To the Editor:
Concerning the incident May 13, at RCES where our children were exposed to the toxic chemical “Jelled Vandalism Mark Remover” from the roofing project. I need to ask these questions:
1) Why w as I not informed before the roofing project began? I need to know when my child is at risk.
2) Why is the interest of saving money more important than children’s health?
3) Was the roofing company used investigated before being hired for the job? Did they use the safety precautions necessary?
4) Should the roofing company be sued? (Someone knew that toxic chemicals were being used!)
I find it impossible to make a decision about my children’s education in this county, especially when grave mistakes are made concerning the physical well-being of our children in the Rappahannock public school system.
