The group of half-a-dozen men hanging out at Morgan’s Store and the Cross Creek Young Men’s Club didn’t know what hit them last Friday afternoon when police officers from several jurisdictions closed in on what has long been suspected as a drug dealing operation in northern Culpeper County.
Culpeper County Chief Deputy Carroll Woody said Tuesday that the Aug. 13 raid on the property, initiated by the Planning District 9 Task Force, netted six arrests, more . than $10,000 in cash, numerous bags of marijuana, a handgun and a 1989 Acura Legend.
The two-hour raid was planned as a result of the many complaints about the area and successful undercover drug buys conducted there by PD-9 officers, Woody said.
The PD-9 Task Force includes police from the following jurisdictions: the Orange County Sheriffs Office, the Culpeper Town Police, the Culpeper County Sheriffs Office, the Virginia State Police, and the Fauquier County "Sheriffs Office, Woody said. ,,
